Digital Nova Scotia’s Skills for Hire Atlantic is an up-skilling and reskilling program training participants in cybersecurity and data analytics. As we all know, networking and connectivity play a huge role in moving into new roles and new directions professionally. The mentorship program offers our participants an excellent opportunity to meet industry professionals and learn more about the organizations that make up the tech landscape here in the Atlantic provinces.

Hosted exclusively through Mentorly, graduates of Skills for Hire Atlantic will have the opportunity to connect with mentors, who are industry professionals in the tech space in Atlantic Canada. Skills for Hire Atlantic participants have access to all mentor profiles on Mentorly, and can request a one on one meeting with a mentor.

Mentors are volunteering their time to support participants! These mentorship sessions give you the opportunity to discuss topics such as:

Career development, resume building, communication skills, networking opportunities, workplace culture, technical questions, trends in Atlantic Canada’s tech sector, human resources and recruitment, opportunities for additional education & certification

The mentorship program and Skills for Hire Atlantic are meant to prepare participants to contribute to a thriving tech sector in the Atlantic provinces. To do this, we have recruited mentors with industry expertise and in-depth knowledge of the tech sector in Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, and/or Newfoundland and Labrador. These mentors are expected to share their professional experiences, best practices, and insights with mentees to help them navigate their educational and career paths effectively to their mentees.
